The Juniper Festival returns to Edinburgh this weekend with launch of Makers and Mixers edition

At a loose end this weekend? No plans? Why not head to Summerhall for the annual Juniper Festival, the biggest celebration of all things gin, which starts tonight and runs through until Sunday.

With the launch of its ‘Makers & Mixers’ edition, this year’s festival will also introduce the Distillers Room,  bringing together over 20 top gin distillers from around the world into one room. Armed with a bottle of gin, each distiller will mingle with guests, hand pouring samples and offering an unmissable opportunity for gin enthusiasts to get to grips with their favourite brands and the people behind them.  I’m particularly to re-aquainting myself with Rock Rose and Lussa gin and trying some new ones too.

And that’s not all. This year, the festival has pulled together Scotland’s finest creative mixologists with a dynamic variety of hand picked gin brands to collaborate and create the most distinctive and imaginative serves for guests to sample and enjoy – with full sized cocktails also available to buy.

For those who want a bit more education, there’s talks, masterclasses and interactive experiences, so you can enjoy beautiful drinks and learn a thing or two. Remembering it though might be another thing, depending on how many cocktails you consume.

With music, entertainment, Scottish street food, craft stalls and gin cocktails galore –there’s no better place to enjoy a G&T this summer!
