A couple of years ago I reviewed The Basement after it’s refit. Christopher and I were impressed with the guacamole and had a great night. A couple of weeks ago I returned with the Edinburgh Foody team to see if it still has what it takes. (Spoiler alert: it does.)
I’ve been taken on a culinary adventure to Sri Lanka this week, without having to have left my kitchen. It all started with my New Year trip to Dubai.
Seaweed is a bit of a favourite ingredient of mine. I enjoy cooking with it and I enjoy the various things seaweed does for us. So when I was given a chance to review The Seaweed Cookbook by Xa Milne, I jumped at the chance. A whole book dedicated to…

Tomorrow may be Valentine’s Day and the day sales of chocolate and champagne rise and yet for us singletons, I’ve renamed the day ‘Galentine’s Day’ and will be celebrating with my girlfriends in celebration of female friendships; and yes we’ll probably be consuming lots of chocolate and champagne too!
