Saturday morning at Edinburgh Academy. People are setting up and anyone who comes through the door is handed a champagne flute and a voucher for an oyster. Bottles pop: Fizz Festival, Edinburgh, has started.

Fizz Fest brings fizz and fizz experts to their adoring public. 350 people tasted 75 wines over two sessions. Caroline and Kerry attended.

There was asti, prosecco, cava, several interesting English sparkling wines and champagne on offer. She attended the Ferghettina franciacorta masterclass with Douglas Wood; Kerry thoroughly enjoyed the Tattinger masterclass. Tasting and learning at the same time: perfect.

Loch Fyne provided a feast of oysters, and Oyster Man chucked them on request. Perfect with a glass of sparkles.
