Le Monde had a launch night with canapes, passports and journey across the globe. Our journey started in the lobby where we received our passport and a Millionaire Baller, a citrussy concoction inspired by Japan while nibbling marinated artichokes and aubergine bruschetta.
We sipped our way through the areas of Le Monde. We had Atlantis Punch and S’BIGliato shots – these cocktails are on the sharing menu. The Punch is a glorious blue and the S’BIGliato is one of my favourites, a refreshingly bitter spritz.
We moved on to the restaurant, a multi-level space with discrete lighting and an Asian flavour. Here we enjoyed spinach and cheddar croquettes, diamond steak and chimichurri and battered haddock bites from the small plates menu. With these, we enjoyed the tequila hit of the Saintoge Sidecar. This was followed by Der Wassermelonenmann (best name ever), a long, fresh drink of alcoholic watermelon. Summer in a glass.
The evening closed on chocolate brownies and strawberry ice cream and, for me, a Gin Gin Cosmo, pink gin and rhubarb gin liqueur shaken with cranberry juice into fabby pink froth. Trés sophisticated, darling.
We had a bright night of cocktails and food when Le Monde relaunched. They’ve had quite the make-over. From deep purple and dark intimacy the space is now bright and classily classic. White marble, bright brass and art deco vibes create the perfect space to enjoy yourself. Let sharing plates and internationally inspired cocktails fuel your fun.
