Greater than the sum of its part, Kerry got to experience the newly opened Eden Locke, a design-led aparthotel for those who want to challenge the status quo, and experience something unique. Designed for travellers for whom a bed and shower in a shoebox isn’t enough, she met with their designers Matt Grzywinski, their Head of Coffee, Global Coffee Masters 2017 James Wise and enjoyed a journey through their careful curation of Scotland’s best tipples, poured, mixed and shared to perfection at Hyde & Son.

Like its London counterpart, Hyde & Son is a third wave coffee lounge by day and artisan bar by night. Hyde is the type of place where you can lounge and read a book, work away on your laptop with a cup of artisan coffee, hold a meeting or share a drink with friends. Hyde is  also Edinburgh’s first Purist Bar.  Every spirit, craft beer and wine has been hand selected through an elaborate vetting process.  Unless a spirit can be served neat, it’s not on the menu. From locally sourced artisan spirits and unique cocktails to a range of craft beers and wines, Hyde & Son is certainly a destination for Edinburgh’s discerned.
