With enviable views across Princes Street to Edinburgh Castle, Juniper Bar is definitely the place to head to for cocktails with a view.  Spring might have been a long time coming but Kerry headed to this great bar to try their new spring menu – Let Spring Be-Gin, along with her partners in crime, Derek and Isaac, The Social Bitches!

Juniper is  one of the places in Edinburgh for fabulous cocktails and their team use the best of the spirits and marry these with fresh, locally sourced ingredients and home-made juices and infusions. Their bar bites are pretty good too – that mac n’ cheese with pulled pork was sooooo good.

From traditional cocktails with a contemporary twist, they come up with some interesting cocktails, served imaginatively.  On offer was a selection of producers shaking up some pretty amazing cocktails:  Arbikie vodka with cloudy apple juice to produce a Cloudy Ripple; a Spiced Pickering’s Negroni; a Bramble from Edinburgh Gin, using their rhubarb and ginger gin; and my two favourites, a Midnight Express, similar to a White Russian, using Fair Coffee Liquor, Fair Quinoa vodka (that makes it healthy, right?!), double cream, Baileys, and coffee syrup; and then a Purple Haze from Boe Violet Gin, garnished with an edible pansy. Well I hope it was edible, as I ate mine!
