Vdeep and comforting

VDeep is very much a place you feel at home, you could almost kick off your shoes under the table. It’s a place for good craft beer some of which is used in the dishes on the menu. Set up by comedian and presenter Hardeep Singh Kohli, it’s somewhere you’ll return to time and again.

We were there to sample the new menu and ended up taking part in a quiz. It’s that sort of place (Our team came second).

I am a little sad that the menu items have more conventional names than they used to but of course that has nothing to do with the taste!

I love the idea of the staff curry. New dishes are tried out on the staff first and if successful they make it to the main menu. So do choose that option next time you’re in to add your thoughts

A simply ginormous naan arrived – topped with cheese and haggis! A great favourite with those concentrating more on the beer than the food perhaps!

Our favourites included the spare ribs and the ox cheek – such comforting food! The dahl with duck was delicious, I particularly like the paneer and peas. We were soon very full. Mr EF tried two dark beers which matched the food particularly well.

Our verdict? A great place to relax with mates, drink, eat and feel at home.
